It is most widespread from the south coast of England to Iceland, Finnmark, and the deeper parts of Skagerrak and Kattegat. Along Norway's south and west coasts, it is common on soft bottoms from 100 to 300 meters. Norway pout is often caught during trawl fishing for deep-water shrimp.
Usage: The fish is used for fish feed, among other things.
Fishing gear: Trawl, Danish seine.
Nutritional content: It is known for its high protein content and low fat content, making it an excellent source of lean protein. It can also contain important vitamins and minerals, such as B vitamins (especially B12) and minerals like phosphorus, selenium, and magnesium.
